2013

In January 2013, I travelled to London for a photography workshop. At that time, I had no idea that I would be travelling to the British capital again and again in the following years as part of consulting projects.

London has fascinated me since my first visit. The many contrasts between traditional and modern architecture, especially in the city centre, contribute to this. The different perspectives and angles that can be seen here always offer the photographer room for creativity. I have selected the following three photos 1 from this period for my exhibition.

The first two pictures were taken directly one after the other at More London Place. Although the two protagonists were only a few metres apart, they took no notice of each other. A few moments after this picture, the businessman flicks away the cigarette butt, which will be swept away by the cleaner on the next round. A typical scene in our thoughtless society. And unfortunately this has not improved over the last ten years - a cigarette is literally the least of the problems with this behaviour.

The third picture is a scene from Fitzroy Street in the Fitzrovia neighbourhood. I photographed the Mini with the street in the background and got into a low position to make the cars parked behind it disappear in the perspective. At that moment, the couple - our lecturer Thorsten Overgaard and his partner at the time - walked into the picture. We had previously been to a café at the other end of the street with the course participants for refreshments.

Such an unplanned picture often turns out to be a little treasure. It was the same here and the picture ended up as the monthly title in Thorsten Overgaard's journal. There, however, it was still in a different format. The square section was only created some time ago when I decided to show the exhibition in 1:1 format.
