Projects
Over time, I have developed a preference for different themes that I would like to depict in my photography. I call them projects here on my site, as further goals1 are linked to them.
For each project you will find the photos in the respective gallery and on this page you will find further explanations on project pages.
Focus
A project that has already been sketched out in outline is entitled Focus. This is about the extreme play with sharpness and blurriness in photography. This type of photography is very decelerating in its realisation and the resulting images radiate a tranquillity all of their own.
Light
This project is dedicated to artificial light sources, which on the one hand are functionally very practical, but can also carry a lot of symbolic power as a photo motif. This is about lighthouses and lamps.
Lighthouses are associated with hope, guidance and safety due to the light visible from afar and the fixed position, and the usually dreamlike location is rewarded with the prospect of expressive and symbol-laden photos.
Lamps have a special charm when they do not shine themselves, but cast shadows on neighbouring buildings. This is only the case when the sun is low enough and I am very attentive on my tours and walks here to capture the situation at the right moment. But there will also be other lamps, illuminated or during the day, that I consider interesting.
People
People in front of the camera are among the most exciting subjects in photography. There is a very wide range here: from planned or surprising snapshots in the context of so-called street photography to the documentation of events to extended photo shoots for professional portraits, there are many different possibilities here.
It is particularly interesting for the photographer to go beyond pure documentation and also express the personality in the photo.
I am planning a compilation of photos from all three of these areas. This project will take a little more time due to its complexity.
Mobility
In addition to buildings and roads, public space is heavily dominated by vehicles, especially cars. And the German's favourite child is often more than just a means of transport. It is sometimes part of the family, sometimes part of the driver's personality.
Whenever I see vehicles that I find exciting for a photo or a small series, they end up as an image in the camera's memory. As is so often the case with older models in particular, the emotional journey through time is also involved.
However, I'm not just calling the project automobile, but mobility, as other means of transport will also be included here.
Music
At the top of my list is the photography of musicians on, behind or on the way to the stage. My favourite long-term project is therefore simply called Music. And it has been since 2006.
Since 2005, I've been out and about with my digital camera at small music events and have taken photos whenever it was allowed or desired. I couldn't realise my ideas with the tools I had, so I bought a digital SLR camera with fast lenses2.
From the end of 2006, I regularly turned up with it in Bavarian live music venues and completed my first years of training in this genre. My friend Ron Evans3, whom I accompanied to many events, was also a patron and supporter during this time.
In 2025, this project will finally be given special visibility and recognition with the selected photos from the years 2006 to 2019. I am also planning some separate sub-projects for some artists who are particularly close to my heart.
Other projects are still in a less concrete state. But that's the beauty of creative processes such as photography and writing: you can store and arrange the ideas until something can be formed from the parts and you want to present the result with pleasure and pride.

All projects have an exhibition, a catalogue and the possibility to order wall art as an objective. I work here without time pressure, but already according to a timetable in order to achieve my results. If you are interested in a cooperation on a project or an exhibition of my pictures before the completion of a project on my website, please contact me so that I can prioritise my activities accordingly. ↩

Ron passed away in the summer of 2023. A loss that hit me hard and changed my attitude towards life and creative work. ↩
